Although I realize the inserts can't be too thick if they are to go through a printer, I found these inserts to be too thin. And although they are supposed to wrap around a DVD case, they do not do so. I divided the sheet into just a front cover and hand wrote the titles thereon but couldn't get the insert into the spine section of my DVDs.

I like the way these look when printed and inserted into my DVD cases, but there is a slight problem with the Avery Wizard software. I downloaded the latest version of Avery Wizard from their web site for use with Microsoft Word, and selected template #8891 as instructed on the item itself. However, I find that when I use Avery's template the center part of the printed information, which should be printed in the 'spine' location, is offset about a quarter inch to the left and doesn't come out in the proper location at all. After several tests, I ended up creating my own template, after which everything worked just fine. It seems odd to me that Avery can't get templates for their own products to line up correctly.

The toner printed fine through its life, but it didn't last 8,000 pages. It probably made it through about 3 reams of paper, far short of the expected life. I guess for the lower cost, it was equivalent to the OEM but I'm going back to OEM.

Transcend TS8GCF133 Review by An ordinary consumer (Rochester, MN United States)

Some bad reviews made me apprehensive while buying this card. However, since I own a micro-SDHC from Transcend and it is also 8 GB, I thought that logically Transcend would have little chance to make a big product worse than a micro one. Well, I was mistaken. This card gave me an error message in the first day of usage. The camera is the original Canon Digital Rebel. Used it during two photo shoots and around the same image count got the same card error message, somewhere between images #88 and #92. I would send it back to Amazon, but then I would lose money on shipping (since the total order would drop below $25), so decided to keep for non-critical photo shoots, like products, that can be retaken if necessary.

As others have mentioned, the card is extremely slow for formatting and transfer. It takes around 45 minutes for full formatting regardless of the speed of the PC. The quick formatting taking a minute or so, but then increases chances for data corruption. The stated "133x" speed is probably true if we'll assume that 1x = 150 kb/s. If this is the case, then 133 x 150 kb/s would give us around 2 MB/second transfer speed.

It seems that one cannot rely on a brand anymore, when it comes to memory cards, so most likely I will continue buying Transcend, but will be more selective about the model.

There isn't a whole lot to say - when I got my Nikon D300 I also got a Transcend 4GB card and it worked perfectly although it at that time was not "endorsed" by Nikon if I remember correctly. Then I got another 4GB card which also worked absolutely perfectly and so now I needed a slightly "bigger" card for a trip to Hawaii and I got the 8GB and it too has performed as I hoped. And the price was very attractive and the card arrived very quickly although I didn't choose "anything special" for delivery - so it's "all good"...I kinda like the look of the cards as well!
And that's all I have to say about that.

I bought 8 GB Transcend 133X CompactFlash card for my Canon Rebel SLR camera shooting in raw mode. I have been using the card for over 2 years and I am very pleased with the speed of card in my camera for shooting.

I find the speed of transferring photos to the computer totally satisfactory. I usually start transfer from multiple folders (5-6) at the same time and go off to do something else. In a few minutes it is done.

Overall, I am very pleased with the price and capacity. Transcend will definitely be in the running when I will need the next memory card.

This was just what I was looking for...a soft, removable cover (believe me these things need washing now and then) and just the right amount of firmness underneath. True, it takes up more room than inflatable for traveling, but it's worth it. Previously had the kind with the little white beads inside, but they all sprung a leak pretty quickly.
