The ceramic exterior finish on my twenty year old cast iron grill pan, finally had to be replaced. It was expensive, and then some. Shopping, I saw this Lodge Logic pan and, although skeptical, I thought I might as well try it - couldn't loose much. BUT it is exceptional, at any price. I wonder why I was not a believer that an inexpensive pan copuld do the job as well as this one. Although it is pre-seasoned, I always re-season new cast iron, BUT I strongly recommend LARD. Canola oil is OK, but can result is some surface stickiness. For best long term results for cooking, use this Lodge grill pan, seasoned with lard.

lodge is, in my opinion, the best in iron cookware. They are reasonably priced with exceptional quality. This has been used many times to cook great BACON!! HIGHLY recommend anything from Lodge!

As with all Lodge products if you follow the instructions for use and care you can't go wrong. Foods cook evenly and there is nothing better for a nice crusty piece of meat. The grooves keep fats away and produces nice lines for a beautiful presentation.
