I bought two of these cards to supplement the two 16GB Sandisk Extreme III (Class 6) cards that I have been using for over two years. The new cards regularly generate card errors that require the cards to be ejected and reinserted. Never have I had a single problem with the Extreme III cards in two years of use on either a D90 or a D7000.

Transcend TS8GCF133 Review by An ordinary consumer (Rochester, MN United States)

Some bad reviews made me apprehensive while buying this card. However, since I own a micro-SDHC from Transcend and it is also 8 GB, I thought that logically Transcend would have little chance to make a big product worse than a micro one. Well, I was mistaken. This card gave me an error message in the first day of usage. The camera is the original Canon Digital Rebel. Used it during two photo shoots and around the same image count got the same card error message, somewhere between images #88 and #92. I would send it back to Amazon, but then I would lose money on shipping (since the total order would drop below $25), so decided to keep for non-critical photo shoots, like products, that can be retaken if necessary.

As others have mentioned, the card is extremely slow for formatting and transfer. It takes around 45 minutes for full formatting regardless of the speed of the PC. The quick formatting taking a minute or so, but then increases chances for data corruption. The stated "133x" speed is probably true if we'll assume that 1x = 150 kb/s. If this is the case, then 133 x 150 kb/s would give us around 2 MB/second transfer speed.

It seems that one cannot rely on a brand anymore, when it comes to memory cards, so most likely I will continue buying Transcend, but will be more selective about the model.

There isn't a whole lot to say - when I got my Nikon D300 I also got a Transcend 4GB card and it worked perfectly although it at that time was not "endorsed" by Nikon if I remember correctly. Then I got another 4GB card which also worked absolutely perfectly and so now I needed a slightly "bigger" card for a trip to Hawaii and I got the 8GB and it too has performed as I hoped. And the price was very attractive and the card arrived very quickly although I didn't choose "anything special" for delivery - so it's "all good"...I kinda like the look of the cards as well!
And that's all I have to say about that.

I bought 8 GB Transcend 133X CompactFlash card for my Canon Rebel SLR camera shooting in raw mode. I have been using the card for over 2 years and I am very pleased with the speed of card in my camera for shooting.

I find the speed of transferring photos to the computer totally satisfactory. I usually start transfer from multiple folders (5-6) at the same time and go off to do something else. In a few minutes it is done.

Overall, I am very pleased with the price and capacity. Transcend will definitely be in the running when I will need the next memory card.

This was just what I was looking for...a soft, removable cover (believe me these things need washing now and then) and just the right amount of firmness underneath. True, it takes up more room than inflatable for traveling, but it's worth it. Previously had the kind with the little white beads inside, but they all sprung a leak pretty quickly.

Although I love the look of a marble mortar and pestle, I wanted something non-porous that I could use for medicinals AND food items. When I saw this I knew it was what I needed. This is a great product, but it has one weakness: the pestle (the part you hold in your hand) is too light. (It's made of hollow stainless steel.) A heavy pestle makes things easier to crush because the weight helps do the grinding for you - this is why these are traditionally made of heavy stone. If you're crushing pills (which are easy to crush), this product will work well. If you need to crush some spices (e.g. cumin seeds), you'll have to put in more work than you'd expect. If I were designing this product I would have weighted the pestle - you don't realize how light it is until you pick it up and start using it. So just be aware of this limitation.

This is my third or fourth knife from Henckels; and I have been satisfied enough in the past to buy four of these sight unseen. I was not to be disappointed as these feel good, look good, and cut good! Have had no trouble slicing anything, from very thin slices of sweet onion to nice cuts of tomato for hamburgers. My only quibble is that my old paring knives were 5" and I sometimes wish the new ones were maybe a half inch longer, as sometimes fruit poses an issue with length. We do routinely put these in the dishwasher and have seen no negative effects yet in the first few months. Like this entire Henckels series, a terrific value!

The ceramic exterior finish on my twenty year old cast iron grill pan, finally had to be replaced. It was expensive, and then some. Shopping, I saw this Lodge Logic pan and, although skeptical, I thought I might as well try it - couldn't loose much. BUT it is exceptional, at any price. I wonder why I was not a believer that an inexpensive pan copuld do the job as well as this one. Although it is pre-seasoned, I always re-season new cast iron, BUT I strongly recommend LARD. Canola oil is OK, but can result is some surface stickiness. For best long term results for cooking, use this Lodge grill pan, seasoned with lard.
